The Experiment  Beyond Achieving is back!

Round 4 of the Experiment begins September 1!

Dates: September 1-30, 2026
Weekly Lab Meetings: Tuesdays, 7–8:30 PM EaSTern

Life Is

One

Big Experiment

If you are reading this, you are likely exhausted from trying to achieve your way out of burnout. You’ve hit the wall, you’ve done the grinding, and you’re realizing that the old blueprint for "success" is exactly what got you stuck.

Welcome to the ultimate re-balancing act.

Beyond Achieving is officially reopening its doors, and this round of The Experiment is entirely dedicated to one radical mission: de-centering work and rebuilding your life from the ground up.

Guided as always by the light, work, and words of ancestor Audre Lorde, we aren't here to give you another productivity hack or a five-step plan to optimize your day. We are here to blow up the idea that your worth is tied to your output.

The Protocol: 30 Days to Get Unstuck

What better way to reinvent your relationship with work than within a trusted, proven container? Following the exact structure of our previous two successful cohorts, this is a low-lift, high-impact incubator for your life.

  • 30 Days, 30 Micro-Experiments: One small, intentional task per day.
  • Minimal Effort, Maximum Rebellion: These micro-experiments require very little time, but they force you to put in the daily reps of choosing you over your to-do list.
  • A Safe Space to Fail and Flourish: This is a living lab where science meets magic, allowing you to safely test new ways of being, resting, and existing.

The lab doors are officially open for registration.

Let's try some new shit together.

Why this? Why now? And why me?

The Experiment is built on a simple premise: if you want to change how you live, you have to stop looking for a master plan and start treating your life like a lab. Transformation doesn’t happen by following a textbook; it happens when you are willing to take risks, try new shit, and see what actually works for you.

As for why you should step into the lab with me?

I’m a hopeless scientist.

(Think hopeless romantic, but with data.)

My entire life is one big scientific method—and honestly, yours is too, even if you haven’t looked at it that way yet. I have always moved through the world by gathering data, testing things out based on who I am and where I want to go, reviewing the results, and repeating the process.

And right now, I am putting my own method to the test in a major way.

  • The Credentials: I hold a PhD in Human Development and Family Science. I spent years mastering the literal science of people and relationships.
  • The Evolution: I stepped away from academia for a time, using that space to walk closely with people, gathering new data by engaging my work differently, and refining my approach (and self as a leader) over time.

But this fall, I am re-entering academia.

This time, I’m doing it differently. The version of me that left and the version returning have the same bones, but the muscles are shaped differently.

I am being deeply intentional about bridging the world I grew up in and the world I built. I’m not entering the system to lose myself to the grind; I’m entering it as a practitioner who blends systems theory, strategy, and spiritual gifting to design a life that actually feels like my own.

This challenge is my love letter to the research nerds, the overthinkers, and the anxious achievers who want to build something better but don’t know where to start.

If we are going to learn how to navigate these heavy systems without losing our alignment, we have to practice. Let's gather this data together.

Register by August 31, 2026

Who belongs in this lab?

The research nerd who has read all the books, but still hasn't found a method that actually lives with them. (You don't need more theory. You need a practice.)

The perfectionist-in-recovery who is ready to stop performing and start testing. You are tired of waiting for the "perfect" plan before you allow yourself to move.

The high-functioning, low-key fried visionary who is desperately trying to pivot. You've got the vision, but your battery is in the red.

The sensitive system builder. You love strategy, but you need a version of it that actually respects your energy and your own natural rhythms.

The person who keeps saying, "I just need some structure..." This is the structure. It’s low-demand, high-impact, and designed to help you get out of your own head.

But not only that. We are here to have some fun!

What you get during the challenge

01

30 days of daily experiments (micro challenges, reflection prompts, or action steps you can actually do)

02

Weekly Lab Meetings (group calls every Tuesday from 6–7:30 PM CT/7-8:30ET to process your data, ask questions, and recalibrate in real-time)

03

A private space to track insights, get feedback, and connect with other curious minds within Mighty Networks

04

The foundation for bigger, bolder moves without burning yourself out

05

Lots of fun and good energy

06

I’m Dr. Shaquinta: systems thinker, consultant, and your favorite recovering turning academic.

As the founder of Beyond Achieving, my approach is deeply informed by the work of Audre Lorde, which also guides the mission of our non-profit counterpart, Audre’s Den.

I hold a PhD in Human Development and Family Science, which basically means I’ve spent the better part of my life studying how people grow, change, and make meaning. I stepped away from academia for a time not because I didn’t love the science, but because I needed the space to build the capacity to push back against the system. This fall, I am re-entering academia—not to succumb to the grind, but to bridge these two worlds entirely on my own terms.

What I love is helping people use the data of their actual lives—their patterns, preferences, pain points, and purpose—to build something that feels right. Not performatively right. Actually right.

I created The Experiment for folks like us: the deep feelers, overthinkers, and cautious visionaries who want something real, sustainable, and rooted in who they are, not who they’re expected to be.

FAQ

What if I can’t attend the live Lab Meetings?

No worries. All sessions will be recorded and uploaded to the private portal within 24 hours. You’ll still get the full experience and you can submit questions ahead of time if you want coaching or insight during the call.

Is this like a bootcamp or accountability challenge?

Nope. This isn’t a challenge to force you to do more. The goal is experimenting intentionally, gently, and with curiosity. You’ll get daily prompts, but they’re flexible and designed to meet you where you are. (We don’t do hustle for hustle’s sake around here.)

What kind of time commitment should I expect?

The daily experiments are light and doable. Think 10–20 minutes per day. The weekly Lab Meetings are 90 minutes, with replays available if you can’t make it. You can go as deep or as light as you need. This is your lab.

Who is this for, really?

The Experiment is for thoughtful, high-capacity folks who are ready to pause, process, and play with new possibilities. If you’re the kind of person who needs structure but resists rigidity, this is for you. Especially if you’re navigating transition, burnout, or a personal pivot.

Do I need to be a coach, entrepreneur, or in a certain field to join?

Nope. This isn’t industry-specific. This is human-specific. If you’re a person with patterns, purpose, and maybe a little (or a lot) of anxiety about change, welcome. You’re in the right place.

What happens after the 30 days?

At the end of the challenge, you’ll have the option to continue the work inside the full 3-month Experiment program. But there’s no pressure. You’ll leave this challenge with tools, clarity, and your own data, either way.

Because Life isn't pass/fail. It's test, Learn, Tweak, Repeat.

You don’t have to get it “right.”
You just have to get curious.

Let’s get in the lab.
